One of the most common questions we're asked is what our condition descriptions actually mean. Here's how we grade and describe pre-loved and vintage pieces, so you always know exactly what you're buying.
Why Condition Language Matters
As we specialise in pre-loved luxury, many items show signs of previous use. Rather than hide that, we describe it — every product is individually photographed and honestly described, so you know exactly what you're purchasing before you buy.
The Condition Terms We Use
You'll typically see one of the following in our listings:
- Excellent (vintage) condition — minimal signs of wear; close to like-new for its age.
- Very good (vintage) condition — light, expected signs of wear consistent with age and previous use, fully functional.
- Good (vintage/pre-loved) condition — noticeable wear such as hardware tarnish, corner wear or marks, clearly described and photographed, still fully wearable and functional.
- Satisfactory (pre-loved/vintage) condition — more significant signs of wear or minor damage, always called out specifically in the listing so there are no surprises.
Whatever the grade, the same rule applies: any noticeable wear or imperfection is stated in the description and shown in the photos, not left for you to discover after delivery.
Photos Are Part of the Description
Please review all photos carefully — on every listing, they form part of the condition description, not just a visual reference. If something matters to your decision (a mark, a repair, a missing accessory), it will be visible in the photos.
Still Unsure?
If a condition detail isn't clear on a listing, message us before you buy — we're happy to answer specific questions about wear, hardware, or anything else. And if an item arrives faulty or significantly not as described, you're covered for 30 days under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, separate from our standard 14-day change-of-mind return window.
